Is my memory faulty?

I have been following the Velocette Technical Forum and have been rather overwhelmed by the number and the scope of some of the problems being discussed. I remember my old Venom as a marvel of engineering, even if it did leak a bit of oil. Well, OK, it leaked a lot of oil.

I remember having a few problems with the old Velocette, but I view them as relatively easily overcome. Have I simply forgotten?

I would very much like to have a bike that handles as beautifully as the old Velo, but with the reliability of a modern automobile. Can it be done? Is there enough interest to make it happen?
